1. Scope
Shore Handyman(“Shore Handyman,” “we,” “us,” or “our”) respects your privacy. This policy explains how we collect, use, disclose, and protect information from our website, chat, estimating and booking tools, customer portal, and home-service operations.
2. Information We Collect
- Information you provide: name, email, phone number, property and billing address, project details, access instructions, photos, chat messages, quotes, service notes, and communications with us.
- Payment and account information: payment status, transaction history, and limited card details such as brand and last four digits. Stripe processes card information; we do not store full card numbers on our systems.
- Information collected automatically: IP address, browser and device information, referring page, pages visited, and interactions with our website. We may use cookies and similar technologies for security, functionality, analytics, and service improvement.
3. Google Sign-In and Google User Data
Our customer portal (Shore Home Record) offers “Sign in with Google” as an alternative to our email sign-in link. When you choose this option, Google shares your basic profile information — your name, email address, and profile photo — with us so we can match you to your existing Shore Home Record. We do not request access to your Gmail, Google Drive, Google Calendar, or any other Google product or sensitive scope; Sign in with Google is used solely to confirm your identity.
We use this information only to create or authenticate your portal session and to associate it with the property records already on file for your email address. We do not share Google account data with third parties except the service providers described in Section 6, and never for their own advertising purposes. Our use and transfer of information received from Google APIs to any other app will adhere to the Google API Services User Data Policy, including the Limited Use requirements.
4. How We Use Your Information
- Respond to inquiries and prepare, schedule, document, and deliver services.
- Build quotes, process payments, maintain Shore Home Record property records, and provide support.
- Send requested service communications, including email and permitted text messages.
- Detect fraud, spam, abuse, outages, and security incidents.
- Analyze and improve our website, services, and customer experience.
- Maintain business, tax, accounting, insurance, and legal records.
5. Website Chat and AI Assistance
Messages submitted through the homepage chat are saved as you send them so our team can review the conversation, respond, and connect the transcript to a lead when you provide contact information. The chat uses an artificial-intelligence service to prepare replies. Information you type may be sent to that provider for processing. Do not submit full payment-card numbers, government identifiers, medical information, passwords, or other sensitive information through chat.
6. How We Share Information
We do not sell personal information. We disclose information only as needed to:
- Work with service providers that support hosting, databases, payments, email, communications, analytics, artificial intelligence, security, and customer support.
- Coordinate work with licensed partners or subcontractors when a requested service requires a specialty trade. We share only the information reasonably needed for that work.
- Comply with law, legal process, or protect people, property, and our rights.
- Complete a merger, financing, acquisition, or sale of business assets.
7. SMS and Text Messaging
We send service-related text messages about quotes, appointments, job updates, and billing notifications from 609-728-8535 — roughly 1–4 messages per service event. Consent is not a condition of purchase. Message and data rates may apply. Reply HELP for help and STOP to opt out. See our SMS Terms.
There are three ways you can opt in, and we record different evidence for each:
- Web form checkbox. The box is unchecked by default. Providing a phone number without checking it authorizes a callback only and does not create SMS consent. When you do check it, we record the phone number, date and time, source page, IP address, browser identifier, consent method, and the exact disclosure shown.
- Texting us directly. When you text 609-728-8535 first, we retain your inbound message and its timestamp as the record of consent.
- Verbal consent on a recorded call. We retain the call recording, the date and time, and the staff member who took the consent.
We do not sell, rent, or share mobile numbers, mobile opt-in data, or SMS consent with third parties or affiliates for their own marketing or promotional purposes. Communications providers may process this information only to operate the messaging service for us. Opting out of texts does not prevent service-related contact by phone or email when otherwise permitted.
8. Voice Calls and Call Recording
Calls to and from Shore Handyman may be recorded for quality, training, dispute resolution, and consent documentation. Inbound and outbound calls play an audible “this call may be recorded” disclosure before a staff member connects, so you know before you speak. If you would rather not be recorded, tell us and we will continue by text or email instead.
We retain recordings and any transcripts for as long as reasonably necessary for those purposes and to meet legal, tax, insurance, and accounting obligations, and we protect them with the same safeguards described in Section 9. Access is limited to staff and service providers who need it.
If you give verbal consent to text messages during a recorded call, that verbal consent is retained as a record of your SMS opt-in. See SMS Terms and our SMS opt-in evidence page.
9. Retention and Security
We retain information for as long as reasonably necessary to provide services, maintain property and transaction records, document consent, resolve disputes, enforce agreements, and meet legal, tax, insurance, and accounting obligations. We use reasonable administrative, technical, and physical safeguards, but no system can guarantee absolute security.
10. Your Choices
You may ask to access, correct, or delete personal information we maintain about you, subject to legal and operational retention requirements. You may unsubscribe from marketing email using the link in the message and opt out of SMS by replying STOP.
11. Children
Our services are intended for adults arranging property services and are not directed to children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13.
12. Changes and Contact
We may update this policy as our practices or legal requirements change. The date at the top identifies the current version.
